Title: Industrial Engineer
Location: CA-FRESNO
GENERAL SUMMARY:Responsible for providing Industrial Engineering support to DC's/campuses, as needed. Key working relationships will be with divisional engineering managers. Specific responsibilities, in addition to core I.E. requirements, include capacity and cost analyses of distribution networks.
Description:
* Works closely with Campus and Divisional Engineers.
* Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of divisional and brand organizational structures.
* Demonstrates proven written & verbal communication skills.
* Displays teamwork abilities.
* Core Industrial Engineering competencies required; including, but not limited to time/motion studies, process flow analyses and improvements, conceptual process and material handling design capability.
* Demonstrate strong warehouse operations knowledge at the functional level of detail.
* Provide analyses of capacity impacts for all divisional projects.
* Provide on going cause and effect analyses.
* Create capacity models, tools and templates for analyses, measurement and ongoing reporting.
* Provide analytical support on projects during conceptual/evaluation phase to assess potential costs and/or benefits.
* Identify capacity impacts to distribution centers associated with varying parameters within the supply chain.
* Develop database models, which simulate distribution operations and estimate impacts to throughput (inbound and outbound) and/or storage capacities due to changes in business requirements.
* Understand and quantify differences between physical and operating capacities within distribution facilities.
* Maintain current capacity utilization metrics for all distribution centers on key operating capacities.
* Ensure consistency of capacity reporting across the division.
Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in applying core Industrial Engineering practices.
* Knowledgeable of supply chain relationships and volume flows.
* Strong interpersonal and human relation skills.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Strong ability to manage multiple tasks with confidence.
* Strong time management skills.
* Knowledge of network capacity design software, such as MatLab, Cast, Arena, etc. will be preferred
* Knowledgeable of distribution methods and operating systems.
* Knowledge of Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent, advanced degree preferred.
* 1-3 years of engineering experience.
